1. Miller Learning Center (MLC)
Distance from Rambler: 13-minute walk
Address: 48 Baxter St, Athens, GA 30602
The MLC consists of four floors of study space expanding throughout the North and South wings of each floor. It is open 24 hours on weekdays and closes around midnight on weekends. The MLC is a great place to hunker down to study for exams or complete projects. Plus, it has a Jittery Joe’s coffee on the second floor and the snacks, food and espresso drinks are great for fueling your study session.
2. Main Library
Distance from Rambler: 13-minute walk
Address: 320 S Jackson St, Athens, GA 30602
The Main Library is located on campus and consists of nine floors full of different types of study rooms and individual cubicles. If you ever get hungry or want to take a study break, there is an Einstein Bros Bagels on the first floor where you can buy a bagel or a snack. There is a spacious room on the fourth floor which is referred to as the “collab” room, where you can go if you need to work with others.
3. Science Learning Center (SLC)
Distance from Rambler: 24-minute walk or a 7-minute bus ride from the UGA Arch
Address: 130 Carlton St, Athens, GA 30602
The SLC has tables on the bottom floor and is usually very quiet to ensure a productive study session. If you are in need of a break, there is an Einstein Bros Bagels located on the ground floor that serves coffee, bagels, snacks and smoothies. The SLC is made up of three floors with 13 group meeting rooms and 300 seats in common areas for student study.
4. Tate Student Center
Distance from Rambler: 14-minute walk
Address: 45 Baxter St, Athens, GA 30602
Tate Student Center has five floors of seating where students can sit and study. The fourth floor is the quietest floor with built-in desks and tables, and it’s my personal favorite floor in Tate to get work done. If you like background noise, floor three is the place for you. On floor three, you’ll find the Bulldog Cafe as well as restaurants including Chick-fil-A, Panda Express, Niche Pizza, Starbucks and Barberitos.
5. Jittery Joe’s
DIstance from Rambler: 9-minute walk
Address: 297 E Broad St, Athens, GA 30601
In addition to the location in the Miller Learning Center, Jittery Joe’s has a location downtown and is a favorite spot of students who like to study off-campus. They offer both outdoor seating and indoor seating to ensure a good amount of study spots and meeting places for group collaboration.

6. Starbucks

Address: 100 College Ave, Athens, GA 30601
Starbucks has many seating options and is a quiet place to get work done while getting coffee or a snack! Starbucks is located right across the street from North Campus, so it is a convenient place to fit in a quick study session between classes.
7. Terry College of Business
Distance from Rambler: 9-minute walk
Address: 600 S Lumpkin St
Terry College of Business has multiple buildings, in which you will find many study rooms. In the main building, Amos Hall, there is a large study area on the second floor located right next to The Rothenberger Cafe. It is a common place to sit and study after grabbing a coffee, wrap, sandwich or salad from the cafe. There is also a common study area on the first floor located beneath the cafe area on the second floor. If you don’t want a big group study space, there are chairs and tables located throughout all of Terry to ensure you can get your studying in!
8. Law Library

The Law Library has floor-to-ceiling windows that let in lots of natural light, which makes it one of the best study spots on UGA campus. The main floor is known as more of a collaborative space, as it is an open space with lots of tables and chairs. If you need to work with a group, the main floor is the place to be. There are also quiet areas throughout the library if you’re looking for silence. If you are in need of a study break, head over to the Jittery Joe’s located in the library to grab a quick snack or coffee. The Law Library is open 24-hours for UGA students with just a swipe of their UGA one-card!
9. Science Library
Distance from Rambler: 20-minute walk or 11-minute bus ride from the UGA Arch
Address: 210 D. W. Brooks Drive
The Science Library has four floors, three of which are study spaces for UGA students. You enter on the second floor which consists of a bean bag study area, high performance computers, free scanners and a WEPA printer. The third floor has a large student study area with tables, and curved couches on the left and right sides. If you are in need of a quiet room, the fourth floor has study cells with closed doors and the “think tank”, known for its quietness. There is also a Jittery Joe’s located on the second floor (the entrance floor) of the Science LIbrary.
10. Myers Quad
Distance from Rambler: 19-minute walk or a 6-minute bus ride from the UGA Arch
Address: 310 Sanford Dr
Myers Quad is a big, grassy field in the middle of a few on-campus dorms. It is a beautiful outdoor space where you can sit all day in the fresh air and get work done. It is a popular place for UGA students to sit and study, meet with people or play frisbee!
