What is roommate matching?
Roommate matching is a service offered by leasing offices to assign you with roommates that may have similar interests and lifestyles as you.
The roommate matching process allows you to sign an individual lease for a bedroom within the unit of your choice, even if the other bedrooms are not filled yet. It will be the leasing office’s responsibility to fill the empty spaces, and you will not be financially responsible for any extra rooms if they are not filled.

How am I assigned a roommate?
At most student apartments in Athens, like Rambler, roommates are assigned based on a combination of lifestyle, compatibility and floor plan availability.
Most student apartment applications include a section of “lifestyle questions.” These questions may ask about cleanliness or sleeping schedule, and you will be matched with people who gave similar answers.
At Rambler, we have a roommate compatibility questionnaire that we ask all future residents to fill out. This questionnaire helps the leasing staff get an even better understanding of your personality and lifestyle to ensure that you are as compatible as possible with your assigned roommates.
What categories do you prioritize on roommate match?
It depends. We do our best to find roommates who have the most in common, but it depends on the pool of potential roommates that we have available. The primary factors we look at are:
- Allergies
- Pets
- Cleanliness
- Classification
When will I find out who my roommates are?
To ensure that you get the absolute best roommate pairing, matches aren’t finalized until Ramber is fully leased. This way, we have all potential pairing options available and are able to match you with your most compatible roommate.
For privacy reasons, we must wait to release roommate assignments and information until everything is 100% finalized. At the time of publication, we anticipate that roommate matching results will be released during the summer before move-in. We know that you are eager to meet your new friends, so we try to get out this information as soon as we can!
